A HERBACEOUS neat blue periwinkle Apr-Jul, similar size to V.minor 15cm. S.E.Europe to S.W.Asia. No tangles. Collected from a roadside near Tanakove, Crimea.

Description A herbaceous, deciduous Vinca forming neat, low mats to around 15cm, with clear blue flowers produced from Apr through Jul. In contrast to Vinca minor, it does not form persistent, woody tangles, instead remaining more restrained and seasonal in growth.

Well suited to open, well-drained positions where a compact ground cover is required. This selection (RCB UA-21) was collected from a roadside population near Tanakove, Crimea, and reflects the species’ native range from south-eastern Europe to south-western Asia.
