Herbaceous perennial up to 2m high. Trunk-like stems from thickened woody base. Spikes of large yellow pea-like flowers May-Jun, felted bluish-green trifoliate foliage. Seed collected 4100 feet altitude, Santa Ynez Mountains, Santa Barbara Co. California.
