SUCCISA PRATENSIS (1L)
SUCCISA PRATENSIS (1L)
Succisa pratensis (Devil’s-bit Scabious) is a beautiful British native wildflower producing rounded heads of mauve blue flowers with soft apricot anthers from July to October. Reaching around 60cm, it’s a valuable nectar source for bees, butterflies, and hoverflies. Best in moist soil and full sun to light shade, it prefers not to dry out.
Surprisingly robust and long flowering in garden settings, perhaps due to improved conditions or better strains? It’s ideal for wildlife gardens, meadows, or informal borders.
