Grass with decorative fluffy red flowers which age tan, blue-green leaves, 45cm. Native to Africa but widely naturalised. Seed collected north of Campo Quihano, Salta Province, Argentina, dry rocky soils 3000m altitude. Synonym Melinis repens.
