PHLOMIS SAMIA
PHLOMIS SAMIA
Phlomis samia is a rare and distinctive perennial, grown from wild-collected seed and not to be confused with Phlomis russeliana. This drought-tolerant plant forms striking hooded spires of grey-purple (chocolate-brown) flowers from June to August, contrasting beautifully with its grey-green foliage.
Growing to around 1 metre tall, it thrives in well-drained soil and full sun, making it an excellent choice for Mediterranean-style gardens, gravel borders, and pollinator-friendly planting schemes.
