Oryzopsis miliacea is an exceptionally graceful ornamental grass, producing some of the most elegant flower structures in the garden. From June all the way into February, it sends up airy, whorled flower heads that sway like a delicate Restio or fine horsetail, creating soft movement and a refined silhouette in any planting scheme.

Growing to around 1 metre tall, it’s a standout choice for mixed borders, gravel gardens, or cutting gardens. The dried stems are superb in floral arrangements. It self-seeds lightly in well drained soil and full sun, lending a naturalistic touch wherever it’s allowed to settle.
