HIBISCUS MUTABILIS
HIBISCUS MUTABILIS
Hibiscus mutabilis, or Confederate rose, is a deciduous shrub or small tree, growing up to 4 metres tall. Its spectacular flowers change colour throughout the day—white in the morning, pink by midday, and red by evening.
The large, lobed leaves add texture and contrast to the blooms. Thriving in full sun to partial shade, it prefers well-drained, fertile soil. Hardy to -5°C, it’s ideal for sheltered positions and adds late-season colour to mixed borders or as a focal point in gardens.
