EURYA JAPONICA 'MOUTIERS'
EURYA JAPONICA 'MOUTIERS'
Eurya japonica 'Moutiers' is a slow-growing, evergreen shrub native to East Asia, reaching up to 1 metre in height. Its distinctive fern-like foliage features grey-green centres with undulating, darker green margins, providing year-round visual interest. As temperatures drop, the stems take on a rich red hue, adding seasonal colour to the garden. Inconspicuous yellow-green flowers appear in late winter to early spring, sometimes followed by small, dark berries.
Hardy to approximately -5°C, 'Moutiers' thrives in sheltered positions with partial shade and moist, well-drained, slightly acidic soils. Its compact form makes it ideal for low hedges, shaded borders, or container planting, where it contributes unique texture and colour.
