| Description | A compact, semi-evergreen Epimedium with long, lance-shaped leaves edged with fine spines. New foliage emerges bronze-red to lightly chocolate-tinted before maturing green, giving useful spring colour even before the flowers open. Soft yellow, long-spurred flowers are carried on wiry stems in spring, held neatly above the foliage. It forms a low, spreading clump, usually around 35-50cm depending on conditions, and is well suited to light shade, woodland edges and the front of shaded borders. RHS Award of Garden Merit. |
