Dryopteris lepidopoda, also known as the Sunset Fern, is a distinctive evergreen fern that forms lustrous red-tinted bipinnate fronds arranged in loose rosettes. The fronds are supported by a rhachis with black scales, creating a striking contrast that enhances its overall appearance.

Native to regions from the Himalayas to Taiwan, this fern grows to a height of 60cm and thrives in well-drained soils with adequate moisture in shaded or partially shaded areas.
