A bulbous member of the berberis family. Bluish pinnate leaves each leaflet has a purple blotch, loose sprays of golden yellow flowers Feb-Mar-May (depending on severity of winter), 20cm. Dry shade, aestivates. Hardy. Slow but eventually impressive.
