Size

A neat, evergreen bergenia that earns its keep all year. In mid-late spring, clusters of very pale pink flowers open on strong stems and gradually fade to near-white, hovering just above a tidy mound of dark green, leathery leaves.

The foliage is a big part of the appeal: broad, glossy leaves stay through winter and often take on red/bronze tints in cold weather, giving reliable structure when the border is otherwise quiet.

Exceptionally easy and forgiving, ‘Apple Blossom’ suits borders, edging and groundcover, and it’s equally happy in sun or partial shade in well-drained soil. Expect roughly 30-50cm tall depending on conditions, forming a spreading clump over time.
