BELLEVALIA DUBIA subsp.HACKELII
BELLEVALIA DUBIA subsp.HACKELII
The tubby flowers are dark purplish in tight bud, rich violet blue once they’ve enlarged, then milk chocolate brown with a cream rim once open: all these colours are visible at once in a single spike. This is a reasonably tall (30cm) and rather impressive species where we have it in a south facing slot in the rock garden; somewhat smaller in pots. Endemic to the Algarve.
